Aston Martin North America have filed a defect information notice with the NHTSA because of an issue related to the throttle pedal arm in certain 2008-2014 vehicles. This notice supersedes NHTSA campaign 13V-228. Any vehicle that has been repaired under the previous recall will be asked to return their automobiles to have the problem remedied again. We recently received a phone call from a U.S. Marine about a lemon law case involving his 2010 Chevrolet HHR. The military client bought the vehicle while stationed in Ohio before he was transferred to California. Owners of certain 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedans will be asked to make arrangements to have their vehicles towed to the nearest Infiniti retailer so that repairs can be done to the steering system. The affected vehicles are equipped with Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) that previously received a software update to address power steering assist calibration issues. Continue reading

The job of an oxygen sensor in a vehicle is to compare the oxygen content coming out of the exhaust to the oxygen content in the exhaust stream. This helps the vehicle computer determine whether to enrich or lean the fuel mixture, allowing the catalytic converter to operate more efficiently and reduce emissions into the environment. Exhaust byproducts can often block the sensor’s element over time causing poor fuel economy and increased emissions. Continue reading
