The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating certain 2008-2009 Mercecdes Benz C-Class vehicles after receiving 21 complaints from owners who say they experienced a loss of one or more rear lamp assemblies as well as overheated electrical connector that resulted in melting connectors, smoke, and fires from the rear lamp connector in the trunk. Lotus Evora S Ruptured Oil Line
Lotus USA is expanding a recall on certain 2011 Evora supercharged vehicles manufactured between September 2010 – September 2011 and quipped with a manual transmissions, because of a problem that could result in an engine fire. Fire Hazard In Honda Fit Doors
Honda will be recalling certain 2007-2008 Honda Fit hatchback vehicles after investigating consumer complaints of door window switches overheating and catching fire.
The problem is the result of a previous recall repair that required attaching a protective plastic cover with butyl rubber adhesive to the exterior of the power window master switch. The cover was installed to provide protection from water intusion into the doors, but over time the plastic cover could start separation from the window switch surface allowing water to enter the switch. Water intrusion of the switch will cause it to overheat and could catch fire. Continue reading
