A small number of 2015 Altima and 2016 Maxima owners will be contacted by Nissan about a safety problem affecting the braking system. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the bolts securing the brake caliper assembly to the steering knuckle may have not been properly torqued. 2016 Honda Pilot Safety Systems Warning Lights Fail To Illuminate
Honda will be notifying owners of certain 2016 Honda Pilot 2WD vehicles to return to their dealerships for a problem affecting the instrument cluster warning lights. During a safety system malfunction, the corresponding system warning light will not illuminate until the ignition has been turned of and then back on. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 126, “Electronic stability control systems”, number 135, “Light vehicle brake systems” and number 138, “Tire pressure monitoring systems”. Bently Overheating Electrical Connection
Bently will be asking the owners of certain 2012-2015 Continental vehicles to return to their dealerships for a manufacturing problem that increases the risk of a fire. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the 12V battery cable connection at the bulkhead on the right hand side may have not been tightened sufficiently and could loosen over time. In rare cases, if the battery is significantly discharged and the vehicle is operated under increased electrical load, the connection could overheat. NTSB Recommends Improvements To Tire Registration and Tracking
A recent National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation shows that the way tires are currently registered and recalled is ineffective and is putting drivers and their passengers at risk. The NTSB opened an investigation into the problem after four tire related accidents in Florida, Louisiana, Arizona and California killed 12 people and injured 42 others. According to the NTSB over 500 people are killed and 19,000 others are injured every year in tire-related accidents and they are asking the NHTSA to implement a mandatory registration system. 2015-2016 Porsche Macan Fuel Leak
A problem affecting certain 2015-2016 Macan S and Macan Turbo crossover vehicles will have approximately 21,835 owners returning to their dealerships for repairs. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, these vehicles may have been manufactured with a low pressure fuel line in the engine compartment that could deteriorate over time and leak. Mercedes Benz will be asking a small number of 2016 GLE450 4Matic Coupe and 2016 GLE63 AMG S 4Matic coupe owners to return to their dealerships to repair a problem affecting their vehicles powertrain. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the rear drive shaft bolts may loosen and the rear drive shaft could separate from the transmission or the rear axle differential.
