Nissan ABS Warnings & Potential Fire

Nissan will be asking the owners of certain Maxima and Murano vehicles to visit their dealerships to repair a problem affecting brakes. According to the defect report, these vehicles are equipped with ADVICS ABS actuators that may have been manufactured out of specification. The actuator seals may leak and result in an illuminated ABS warning lamp. If this warning is ignored, the leak could create an electrical short in the actuator circuit and a potential fire. Toyota Air Bags And Emissions Problems

Toyota will be contacting the owners of certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles about problems affecting airbags and the emissions control system.

Last Tuesday, Toyota announced that certain 2010-2012 Toyota Prius and Lexus CT200H cars could have air bag inflators with small cracks in the welds. The problem could lead to the separation of the inflator chambers and an increased risk of injury to occupants.

The automaker announced on Wednesday, that approximately 2.87 million cars may have a fault in the emissions control system. Over time the problem could lead to fuel leaks and an increased chance of a vehicle fire. Certain 2006-2015 Prius, Auris and Corolla models are affected. Continue reading →

2016 Nissan Frontier Starter Motor Electrical Short

Nissan will be contacting the owners of certain 2016 Nissan Frontier V6 vehicles about a problem affecting the starter motor wire harness. According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the harness may have been installed incorrectly, allowing the harness terminal to contact the heat shield. A manufacturing error affecting certain 2016 Subaru Legacy and Outback vehicles will have approximately 3,251 owners returning to their dealerships for repairs. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the nuts securing the propeller shaft to the rear differential could loosen due to an improper tightening procedure.
