2017 Honda CR-V Fuel Leak & Engine Stalls

Honda will be contacting the owners of certain 2017 Honda CR-V’s regarding a manufacturing problem affecting the fuel system. An incorrect die may have been used to create the end form on the fuel feed pipe. The feed pipe may not attach properly to the feed hose and could disconnect when pressurized. A fuel leak could result in an engine stall and a risk of fire in the presence of an ignition source.

2011-2014 Chrysler Alternator Failure

Chrysler will be asking certain 2011-2014 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep owners to return to their dealerships to repair a problems affecting the electrical system. According to the defect report, vehicles equipped with electrohydraulic power steering could experience diode thermal fatigue in the alternator. The problem could result in a rapid failure of the alternator with little or no warning. Depending on the failure mode and timing, system voltage drops could disable systems such as the Antilock Brake System, Electronic Stability Control, Engine Control Module, Central Body Controller or result in a loss of vehicle power. Diodes failing through thermal fatigue may also develop a resistive short that could result in a fire.

2011-2015 Dodge Journey Airbag Warning

Chrysler will be contacting the owners of certain 2011-2015 Dodge Journey SUVs regarding an electrical problem affecting the airbag system. According to the defect report, some vehicles may experience a trapped steering wheel wire harness between the steering wheel back cover tab and the edge of the horn plate. The wire insulation could become damaged, creating a short and an inadvertent airbag deployment. Drivers may be alerted of a problem through an illuminated airbag warning light; unintended wiper operation; inoperable steering wheel switch; inoperable speed control switch; or an inoperable multi-function switch.

Owners receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealerships to have the steering wheel wiring inspected and replaced as necessary. A protective cover will also be installed. 2017 Lexus ES350 Steering Wanders

The owners of certain 2017 Lexus ES350 sedans will be contacted by the manufacturer regarding a problem affecting the steering system. According to the defect report, a lock nut which secures the right hand side tie rod assembly to the steering gear assembly may have not been properly tightened during the assembly process. If the nut loosens drivers could experience nose from the steering or the vehicle may drift while driving. If the problem is not repaired, the tie rod could separate completely, resulting in loss of steering control.

Dealers will inspect the lock nut and if it is found loose, replace the lock nut, steering gear assembly, and tie rod assembly. 2013-2016 Honda Accord Battery Sensor Failure

The owners of certain 2013-2016 Honda Accord vehicles will be contacted by the manufacturer regarding a problem affecting the electrical system battery sensor. According to the defect report, the battery sensor case may allow moisture to enter, causing corrosion, an electrical short and a potential fire.

Dealers will inspect the battery sensor and replace faulty or corroded sensors as necessary. If the sensor is in good condition a temporary repair will be made until more parts become available. 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Loss Of ABS During Hard Breaking

Chrysler will be contacting the owners of certain 2017 Pacifica vans, modified by Vantage Mobility for wheelchair accessibility. According to safety reports, the affected vehicles have rear brake lines that may have been crossed during the modification. This could cause the ABS system to incorrectly read the rear wheel speeds and incorrectly apply ABS. Drivers could experience loss of ABS during hard braking.

California Lemon Law Buyback – 2013 Nissan Altima

The owner of a 2013 Nissan Altima, purchased in April 2013, returned to her dealership May 10, 2014, after she started having problems with her car. The Altima’s air bag and occupant classification systems were defective and had been recalled on five (5) separate occasions, and repeated electrical problems affected the steering, brakes and powertrain systems. After a year of unsuccessful repair attempts the owner of the 2013 Nissan Altima decided to contact us for advice.

General Motors has decided that certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet SS cars may have a defect affecting vehicle safety. According to the defect report, corrosion on the connector between the electric power steering (EPS) module and the torque sensor could result in loss of assisted steering. If power steering is lost, manual steering functionality will be retained, but an increased effort will be needed steer the vehicle.
