In August 2014, Toyota received customer complaints of fuel odor after turning off the engine on certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles. An inspection of the fuel system found fuel dripping from the end cap of the delivery pipe on the engine due to insufficient welding of the cap. An on site investigation of the supplier found that the cooling air hose for the manufacturing jig used during the welding process was disconnected because of routine maintenance, resulting in an insufficient weld. In this condition, fuel could leak from the fuel delivery pipe and in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of a vehicle fire. Continue reading

Mitsubishi Evolution And Ralliart Power Steering Leaks
Insufficient clearance between the power steering pressure tube and the cross member brace in some 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Lancer Ralliart cars will have owners returning to their nearest dealership for repairs. GM Truck Transmission Oil Leaks
General Motors have identified a defect in certain Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUV’s equipped with a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. They are asking owners to return their vehicles to a manufacturer approved repair facility to have the problem fixed. GM’s recall number is 14121 and the NHTSA campaign number is 14V-152. 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Possible Engine Fire
Porsche will be replacing engines on approximately two hundred 2014 911 GT3 coupes after reports of two fires. One fire occurred on February 5, 2014 in Switzerland and the second on February 8, 2014, in Italy. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the engine has been replaced. Continue reading

Lotus Evora S Ruptured Oil Line
Lotus USA is expanding a recall on certain 2011 Evora supercharged vehicles manufactured between September 2010 – September 2011 and quipped with a manual transmissions, because of a problem that could result in an engine fire. Dodge Challenger Dangerous Electrical Problem
Chrysler is recalling certain 2013 Dodge Challenger vehicles manufactured in December 2012 and January 2013 and equipped with a V6 engine.
