Mercedes Benz will be asking the owners of certain 2015 CLA250, 2015 GLA250, and 2016 SLK300 vehicles to return to their dealerships to repair a defect that could increase the risk of an accident. Due to a production deviation at the supplier, certain vehicles equipped with four cylinder gasoline engines could have camshaft welds that have been manufactured outside of specifications. Chrysler & Dodge Minivan Hood Latch Could Detach
Chrysler will be asking the owners of some 2016 Chrysler Town and Country and 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan minivans to return to their dealerships to repair a safety problem that could result in the drivers vision being obstructed. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, during manufacturing, the bolts that attach the hood striker may have been insufficiently tightened and could loosen over time and detach from the hood. GM Wiper Motors May Short And Overheat
General Motors has decided that a manufacturing defect which relates to vehicle safety exists in certain 2016 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles and they will be asking approximately 30,000 owners to return to their dealerships for repairs. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, wiper motor covers manufactured using a broken tool, may allow internal terminals to move and potentially contact each other, creating an electrical short. Cadillac ATS Window Defroster Could Overheat
General Motors have announced a safety defect affecting certain 2013-2016 Cadillac ATS sedans and will be asking owners to return to their dealership for repairs. According to reports, these vehicles may have a rear window defrost coil antenna that may have been manufactured with a weak terminal connection. Subaru Legacy And Outback Power Train Manufacturing Defect
A problem affecting certain 2015-2016 Subaru Legacy 4-door and Outback vehicles will have approximately 2,893 owners returning to their dealership for transmission repairs. Due to a manufacturing error, the process of pressing the seal cap onto the propeller shaft yoke may have resulted in the seal cap becoming deformed. Nissan Versa Lower Console Could Impede Braking
Nissan will be asking owners of certain 2014-2015 Nissan Versa and Versa Note vehicles to return to their dealerships for a problem that could impede braking. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, under rare circumstances, the driver’s shoe could contact and catch the edge of the center console lower trim panel, potentially impeding smooth pedal operation. The brake and accelerator pedals remain fully operational, however, this condition could cause a slight delay in braking which could increase the braking distance. Continue reading
2014-2015 RAM 1500 Airbag Safety Problem
Chrysler has announced that certain 2014-2015 RAM 1500 Quad Cab trucks may not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) for airbag safety. According to reports, the affected vehicles are equipped with side air bag inflatable curtains (SABIC) that may not fully overlap the C-pillars. In the event of an accident, the SABIC may not inflate as intended, increasing the risk of injury to the rear seat occupant.
GM has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt sedans and they will be asking approximately sixty thousand owners to return to their dealership for repairs. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the side-impact sensor wire harness in the driver-side front door may have been improperly routed. The window regulator could contact the harness when the window is fully lowered and, over time, chafe the harness insulation. The problem could result in a short in the side-impact sensor circuit that will prevent the driver-side roof-rail airbag from deploying during a crash.
