Fire Hazard In Honda Fit Doors

Honda will be recalling certain 2007-2008 Honda Fit hatchback vehicles after investigating consumer complaints of door window switches overheating and catching fire.

The problem is the result of a previous recall repair that required attaching a protective plastic cover with butyl rubber adhesive to the exterior of the power window master switch. The cover was installed to provide protection from water intusion into the doors, but over time the plastic cover could start separation from the window switch surface allowing water to enter the switch. Water intrusion of the switch will cause it to overheat and could catch fire. Continue reading →

Dodge Ram Truck Drive Shaft Fracture

Chrysler will be recalling certain 2012 RAM 4500 and 2012 Ram 5500 trucks manufactured between February 2, 2012 through to the end of the 2012 model year.

According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain vehicles may have a front axle carrier (differential housing) that can rotate relative to the axle tube. The front prop shaft could become bound up and fracture at the universal joint, resulting in a loss of power and damage to surrounding components if the prop shaft continues to spin. Honda Odyssey Airbags Investigated

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have opened a preliminary investigation into whether certain 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey Minivans should be recalled. There have already been six consumer complaints of sudden airbag deployment and forty one complaints alleging the vehicle’s air bag warning light illuminates intermittently. Continue reading →
