2017 Buick Lacrosse Suspension Toe Link Assemblies

General Motors have announced that certain 2017 Buick Lacrosse vehicles may have a problem relating to motor vehicle safety. According to the defect report, the rear suspension toe links may have been installed incorrectly and could allow the outboard attachment bolt to loosen and fall out. If a rear-suspension toe-link becomes disconnected the driver may lose the ability to control the vehicle, especially at higher speeds.

Those receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealer to have the left and right rear suspension toe-link assemblies inspected and correctly installation as necessary. Owners wanting more information about the problem are asked to contact Buick’s customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM’s number for this recall is 17168 and the NHTSA campaign number is 17V-267.

2016 Mercedes Benz GL & GLE Improper Wheel Tracking

Daimler will be contacting the owners of certain Mercedes Benz GL and GLE vehicles, regarding a problem affecting their vehicles suspension system. According to the defect report, it is possible that an improper torque connection could exist between the upper control arm and the axle stub. The problem could result in improper wheel tracking and an increased risk of a crash.

The vehicles affected by this problem includes:

  • 2016 Mercedes Benz GL450
  • 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE350
  • 2016 Mercedes Benz GL3450

Dealers will inspect the tightness of the bolt between the upper control arm and axle stub, replacing the upper control arm as necessary. Owners wanting more information about the problem are asked to contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

2014-2015 Ford Explorer Rear Suspension Welds Could Break

Ford is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ford Explorer vehicles manufactured January 17, 2014 to May 31, 2014. According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the rear suspension toe links may have insufficient welds. GM Suspension Defect Could Result In Difficult Steering

General Motors has decided that a defect relating to vehicle safety exists in certain 2016-2017 Cadillac, Chevy and GMC trucks and SUVs, and will be asking owners to return to their dealership for repairs. According to the defect report, the welds on the front upper control arm near the bushings may be poor quality and could fail. 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade Rear Suspension May Shift

A small number of 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade owners will be contacted by the manufacturer about a problem affecting the suspension in their vehicles. According to the defect report, certain Daystar aftermarket replacement rear control arm brackets, included in 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade 1.5″ spacer kit (part KJ09168BK), may have improper or incomplete welds on the top flange on the rear control arm bracket. The problem could result in the rear axle shifting while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. The problem will be accompanied by noise and a sagging rear suspension at the wheel well. Mazda CX-9 Lower Control Arm Corrosion

Mazda will be notifying owners of certain 2007-2014 CX-9 crossover SUV’s to return to their dealership for repairs to the suspension system. The affected vehicles have front suspension ball joints that may experience water intrusion into the fitting. 2015 Toyota Scion TC Rear Suspension Could Detach

Toyota will be asking a small number of 2015 Scion TC owners to return to their dealership for a problem affecting the rear suspension. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, removal and re-installation of the rear suspension to install an optional accessory coil spring may have resulted in improperly torqued bolts.
