Kia will be contacting the owners of certain 2011 Kia Forte vehicles equipped with automatic transaxle, about a problem affecting the power train system of their cars. According to the defect report, that automatic transmission fluid cooler hose may have been improperly cured during the manufacturing process and could leak. If sufficient fluid is lost abnormal transmission shifts with noise and/or illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will occur. Subaru Legacy & Outback Rear Differential Manufacturing Defect
A manufacturing error affecting certain 2016 Subaru Legacy and Outback vehicles will have approximately 3,251 owners returning to their dealerships for repairs. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the nuts securing the propeller shaft to the rear differential could loosen due to an improper tightening procedure. Hyundai will be contacting the owners of certain 2013-2014 Genesis Coupes about a safety defect affecting their vehicles power train. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the differential and suspension rear cross member may have not been properly aligned during assembly. Mercedes 2016 GLE450 & GLE64 Power Train Issues
Mercedes Benz will be asking a small number of 2016 GLE450 4Matic Coupe and 2016 GLE63 AMG S 4Matic coupe owners to return to their dealerships to repair a problem affecting their vehicles powertrain. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the rear drive shaft bolts may loosen and the rear drive shaft could separate from the transmission or the rear axle differential. 2013 Fiat 500e Powertrain Repeated Repair Attempts
In August 2013, Chrysler opened an investigation into certain 2013 Fiat 500e battery electric vehicles because drivers were experiencing excessive noise from the powertrain and loss of drive capability. The investigation found that due to product, process, and rework anomalies, the half shaft joints on the suspect vehicles may not have been engineered and developed for this application. 2013 Honda Fit Drive Shaft Cracks
Three broken drive shaft warranty claims affecting certain 2013 Honda Fit vehicles has led the automobile manufacturer to issue notices recommending that owners return their vehicles the their nearest dealer to have repairs done. In support of this recall, service bulletin 14-024 has been posted on ISIS to include inspection, repair, parts, and warranty information related to this problem. Electronic Throttle Failure In Ford And Mercury Vehicles
The NHTSA is ending an investigation into allegations of electronic throttle failure in Ford and Mercury vehicles. Instead, Ford will be conducting a special Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) in which they will be contacting owners to take their vehicles to a manufacturer approved dealership to update the power-train calibration software to improve vehicle performance. Ford will also extend their power-train warranty coverage for up to 10 years of service or 150,000 miles. Continue reading
Automatic Transmission Failure In Certain Chrysler & Dodge Vehicles
