Due to an assembly process issue, the fuel pressure sensor in some Nissan and Infiniti vehicles may have not been tightened to the manufacturer specification. Over time, the sensor could gradually loosen due to heat and vibration, allowing a small amount of fuel to leak. The fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source could result in an engine fire. The vehicles affected by this problem include:
- 2012-2014 Nissan Juke
- 2012-2013 Infiniti M56
- 2012-2013 Infiniti QX56
- 2014-2015 Infiniti QX70
- 2014-2015 Infiniti QX80
Owners receiving recall notices will be asked to return to their Nissan or Infiniti dealer to have the fuel pressure sensors re-torqued to the proper specification. For more information about the problem owners are asked to contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. The NHTSA campaign number is 14V-683.
