Toyota will be contacting the owners of approximately 422,000 Lexus GS, IS, and LS vehicles to return to their dealerships for a problem with the fuel delivery system.
According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the affected vehicles were manufactured with a plating on the fuel delivery lines to protect against corrosion. This plating could result in the sealing property of the gasket seated between the pressure sensor and the pipe to become degraded. Fuel could leak past the gasket and in the presence of an ignition source, may result in fire. The vehicles affected by this recall includes:
- 2007-2011 Lexus GS 350
- 2007-2011 Lexus GS 450H
- 2006 Lexus GS 300
- 2008-2011 Lexus GS 460
- 2006-2010 Lexus IS 250
- 2010 Lexus IS 250C
- 2006-2011 Lexus IS 350
- 2010 Lexus IS 350C
- 2008-2010 Lexus IS F
- 2007-2010 Lexus LS460
- 2007-2010 Lexus LS 460L
- 2010 Lexus LS 600H
- 2008-2010 Lexus LS 600HL
Toyota will begin contacting owners in December, and dealers will clean and reseal the fuel pressure sensor mounting area, free of charge. For more information about the problem, contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. The NHTSA campaign number is 14V-647.
