General Motors (GM) is recalling a small number of 2014 GMC and Chevrolet SUVs because these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) for vehicle brake systems. The vehicles were manufactured between July 09, 2013 to July 22.2013. GM’s recall number is 13247.

According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the rear brake caliper bolts may have not been fully tightened during manufacturing. Loose caliper bolts could cause reduced braking performance, resulting in lengthened stopping distances and increased chance of an accident. The vehicles being recalled include:

Owners receiving a recall notice will be asked to bring in their vehicles to have the bolts on both rear brake caliper brackets inspected, and replaced and tightened if they are found to be lose.
