Chrysler has announced a recall for certain 2014 Grand Cherokee sport utility vehicles (SUVs) manufactured between January 14, 2013 through March 20, 2013. The vehicles involved are not equipped with premium SRT trimmed headlamps.

According to the recall report, the affected vehicles could experience electrical spikes in the lighting circuitry when switching between daytime running lights and the parking lights. These spikes could result in the parking lamps unexpectedly turning off making the vehicle not visible to other traffic and increasing the chance of an accident.

Chrysler will be asking owners to take their vehicles in to have the central body controller software updated. For more information about the problem, contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler’s recall campaign number is N42.
