Ford has announced a recall for certain Ford and Lincoln vehicles after receiving 600 consumer complaints of fuel tank leaks. Approximately 400,000 vehicles are affected by the problem.
According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain vehicles could experience fuel delivery modules that develop cracks in the insert molded vertical port. Owners of the affected vehicles could experience fuel odors and leaks which could result in a fire in the presence of an ignition source. The vehicles involved in this recall campaign include:
- 2013 Ford Explorer
- 2013 Ford Flex
- 2013 Ford Fusion
- 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan
- 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utilit
- 2013 Ford Taurus
- 2013 Lincoln MKS
- 2013 Lincoln MKT
- 2013 Lincoln MKZ
