Nissan / Infiniti Airbag Classification Problem
An investigation has lead Nissan to identify a problem in certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, where the passenger air bag did not deploy and the air bag status light was not illuminated. The investigation uncovered a problem in which the Occupant Classification System (OCS) classified the seat as empty even though it was occupied. 2014 Nissan Frontier Electrical Short
Nissan has filed a defect notice with the NHTSA for an electrical problem affecting certain 2012-2014 Frontier trucks. Nissan will be asking 13, 535 owners to return their automobiles to a manufacturer approved repair facility to have their trucks inspected and repaired as necessary. 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Increased Braking Distances
Nissan has identified a breaking issue in certain Nissan and Infiniti sport utility vehicle’s (SUV’s) and are asking customers to bring in their automobiles to have their Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) reprogrammed. The vehicles experiencing this problem include Infiniti’s 2013 JX35 and 2014 QX60 as well as Nissan’s 2013-2014 Pathfinder. Approximately 152,000 vehicles could be affected. In a news release this week, Carlos Ghosn, chief executive of Nissan, said that the Japanese automobile manufacturer hopes to be selling their first commercially viable autonomous vehicle by 2020.
