2013-2015 Nissan Altima Repeated Repair Attempt

Nissan will be notifying the owners of certain 2013-2015 Altima‘s about a safety problem affecting the hood latch of their cars. According to reports, these vehicles have been previously repaired under recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116.

A manufacturing error affecting the hood latch assembly in some of the subject vehicles may result in poor paint adhesion to the latch. Over time exposed metal may corrode and cause mechanical binding that may result in the latch to remain in the open position. If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving. Continue reading →

2015 Nissan Rogue Shift Selector Problem

Certain 2015 Nissan Rogue vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) for “Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention”. According to reports, a routine vehicle inspection found a quality issue with certain transmission shift selector knob parts. The problem could result in the shift selector being moved out of the “Park” position while the brake pedal is not depressed. The vehicle could unexpectedly roll, increasing the risk of a crash. Nissan Altima & Maxima Reduced Braking Ability

A small number of 2015 Altima and 2016 Maxima owners will be contacted by Nissan about a safety problem affecting the braking system. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the bolts securing the brake caliper assembly to the steering knuckle may have not been properly torqued. Over time, the the caliper assembly could loosen and in extreme circumstances could separate completely. If a bolt loosens, the driver may notice noise and/or vibration. Continue reading →

2010 Nissan Altima Buyback For Repeated Repair Attempts

After repeated complaints to his dealership and eight (8) unsuccessful repair attempts on his 2010 Nissan Altima, the owner contacted our California lemon law offices for advice. He told us he suspected his transmission was defective as it would whine and slip, and metal shavings were found in the transmission fluid. The Law Offices of Delsack & Associates, P.C. were contacted by the owner of a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder purchased in July 2013. Four months after driving the vehicle she started experiencing problems with the transmission which caused the vehicle to shudder and the 4WD light to illuminate while in 2WD. She subsequently provided Nissan at least four (4) more opportunities to repair the defects, but the problems still remained. Nissan Versa Lower Console Could Impede Braking

Nissan will be asking owners of certain 2014-2015 Nissan Versa and Versa Note vehicles to return to their dealerships for a problem that could impede braking. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, under rare circumstances, the driver’s shoe could contact and catch the edge of the center console lower trim panel, potentially impeding smooth pedal operation. 2015 Nissan Rogue, Sentra, and Versa Door Latch Problem

Nissan will be sending notices to certain 2015 Rogue, Sentra, and Versa Note owners, regarding a problem with left hand door latch mechanisms. According to the defect report, some door latch mounting plates may have been manufactured out of specification. Binding of the ratchet mechanism which captures the door striker as the door closes could result in the door not fully latching and opening while driving. Occupants not wearing seat belts could fall out and/or the distraction could increase the risk of an accident. Continue reading →

2016 Nissan Maxima Fuel Leak

Owners of certain 2016 Nissan Maxima vehicles will be returning to their dealership for repairs to the fuel system. While Nissan is continuing to examine the problem, a preliminary investigation has determined that certain vehicles may have fuel sending units that may have not been affixed to the fuel tank correctly. As a result, the 0-ring between the sending unit and fuel tank may not be seated and could leak, increasing the risk of fire during an accident. Continue reading →
