2013-2015 Jaguar XF Fuel Leaks

Jaguar will be contacting the owners of certain 2013-2015 Jaguar XF vehicles equipped with 2.0L GTDi engines, regarding a problem affecting the fuel system. According to the defect report, a concern has been identified where the installation of the fuel delivery line may have insufficient clearance from the vehicle’s under shield and body. If the line chafes through, drivers may notice a fuel smell inside the vehicle or a fuel puddle underneath when it is parked.

Dealers will inspect the fuel delivery lines and replace damaged ones as necessary. An anti-abrasive sleeve and two additional mounting clips will be installed to ensure clearance. For more information about the problem, owners are asked to contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar’s number for this recall is J077 and the NHTSA campaign number is 16V-796.

2013-2015 Jaguar XF Loss Of Steering Assist

Jaguar Land Rover will be asking the owners of certain 2013-2015 Jaguar XF sports cars to return to their dealership to repair a problem that could affect the steering system. According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, a bolt on the Front End Auxiliary Drive (FEAD) could fail leading to the loss of the FEAD. As a result, the driver may experience a battery charge warning lamp illumination, air conditioning failure, engine overheat warnings and a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) followed by a reduction in steering assist. Range Rover Loss Of Braking

Jaguar will be contacting 74,648 owners of certain 2006-2012 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles over concerns with the braking system. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, drivers could experience a loss of brake fluid as a result of one or both of the front brake jump (flexi) hoses rupturing. A vehicle exhibiting loss of brake fluid will illuminate a red warning triangle, a ‘Check Brake Fluid’ on the instrument cluster, and will experience a loss of front wheel braking. Braking capability will be retained by the rear brake circuit, but the pedal will feel degraded and stopping distances will increase. Continue reading →

Jaguar F-Type, XF & XJ Safety Defects

A number of safety concerns affecting certain 2015 Jaguar F-Type, XF, and XJ cars will have approximately 272 owners returning to their dealership for repairs.

A questionable assembly process could result in the Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) belt, Power Assisted Steering (PAS) pump pulley, positive cable at the alternator, and associated parts to loosen and detach. If the battery positive cable loosens, an electrical short may result, increasing the risk of a fire. If the FEAD belt looses or detaches, the vehicle may lose power assisted steering, increasing the risk of a crash. Continue reading →

2010 Jaguar KF Buyback For Repeated Defects

The owner of a 2010 Jaguar KF contacted us in October 2010 about problems she was having with her new car. She purchased the vehicle in December 2009 and had already given a Jaguar dealer at least six (6) opportunities to correct defects. 2014 Jaguar XF Loss Of Braking

Jaguar Land Rover have filed a non-compliance report with the NHTSA involving a small number of 2013-2014 Jaguar XF cars. During accelerated durability testing it was found that the right hand rear brake pipe was chaffing on the rear sub frame bracket. Contact between the two parts could result in wear on the brake pipe and eventual sudden loss of brake fluid. Drivers will experience an illuminated low brake fluid warning light and stopping distances will be increased .
