Some 2013-2015 Chrysler vehicles equipped with RA3 or RA4 model radios may have certain software vulnerabilities which could allow third party access to some vehicle control systems. If the system is exploited, an unauthorized remote modification could expose the driver, occupants, and other individuals within the proximity to a potential risk of injury. 2014-2015 Ram 4500 & 5500 Improper Tire Ratings
Chrysler will be notifying owners of certain 2014-2015 Ram 4500 and 2014-2015 Ram 5500 trucks, equipped with 6.4L Hemi engines, about a safety problem that could result in unexpected tire failure. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the affected vehicles may have a maximum governed speed of 106 mph but are equipped with tires that are only rated for 87 mph. Operating the vehicle at speeds above the maximum tire speed rating could result in tire failure and increased chance of an accident. Continue reading
2010-2014 RAM Truck Fuel Leak
Chrysler will be asking owners of certain 2010-2014 RAM trucks equipped with diesel Cummins engines, to return their vehicles to their dealership to repair a safety defect with the fuel system wire harness. An engineering analysis found that the terminals on the fuel heater connector could overheat and deform, possibly leading to failure of the O-ring that seals the fuel heater assembly. If the connector overheats, the fuel heater could leak, increasing the chance of an engine fire. Continue reading
