Honda has identified a manufacturing error relating to motor vehicle safety exits on certain 2014 Honda Civic LX sedans and coupes. 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Possible Engine Fire
Porsche will be replacing engines on approximately two hundred 2014 911 GT3 coupes after reports of two fires. One fire occurred on February 5, 2014 in Switzerland and the second on February 8, 2014, in Italy. Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the engine has been replaced. Continue reading
Power Steering Problem In Chevy, Pontiac & Saturn Vehicles
General Motors has decided that a defect relating to steering exists in certain Chevrolet , Pontiac, and Saturn vehicles. Vehicles that were repaired under safety recall 10023 (10V-037) are not included unless they were repaired prior to May 31, 2010. Newer GM Models Could Have Ignition Switch Defect
General Motors will again be expanding its recall into ignition switch problems, adding an additional 971,000 vehicles that may have already been repaired for defective switches. According to GM, thousands of defective switches have been sold to dealers and parts wholesalers and may have been installed in cars from the 2008 model year and newer. Instead of trying to track down vehicles that may have been repaired with a faulty switch, the company has decided to expand the recall. Continue reading
Chrysler Brake Defect Affects Dodge & Jeep SUVs
Chrysler has submitted a noncompliance report with the NHTSA containing details of a safety defect that could affect braking in certain 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The problem will have approximately 644,354 owners returning their SUV’s to a manufacturer approved repair facility to have them tested and repaired as necessary. Continue reading
2014 Cadillac ELR Stability Control Problem
Owners of certain 2014 Cadillac ELR luxury plug-in hybrid compact coupes will be asked to return their vehicles to a manufacturer approved repair facility because they may fail to conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Transmission Could Disengage In GM Vehicles
GM will be asking a small number of Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC vehicle owners to return their vehicles to a manufacturer approved repair facility because they may fail to conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) number 102, “Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect.” They may also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, “Theft Protection and Roll-away Prevention.” Approximately 355 vehicles could be affected by this problem. Nissan / Infiniti Airbag Classification Problem
An investigation has lead Nissan to identify a problem in certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, where the passenger air bag did not deploy and the air bag status light was not illuminated. The investigation uncovered a problem in which the Occupant Classification System (OCS) classified the seat as empty even though it was occupied. Nissan will be sending notices to owners with instructions on how to get their vehicles repaired. Continue reading
